A Day in Belgravia

The Hari is located in the heart of Belgravia, and wedged between one of Central London’s greatest green space – Hyde Park, the iconic Buckingham Palace, and the famous Knightsbridge. However, below we have put together a little guide on Belgravia’s own best kept secrets…

STREETS OF BELGRAVIA

Belgravia is celebrated for being one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in London, and for good reason! The elegant and cobbled streets are lined with immaculate terraced townhouses, beautiful garden squares, quaint coffee shops and international embassies. Unsurprisingly, admiring the diplomatic buildings and foreign flags is just one of the ways you can appreciate the beauty of Belgravia.

But that’s not all. As you wonder around, you will notice Belgravia is adorned with a number of quaint mews streets, filled with historic charm. Despite their central locations, they are very peaceful; and it’s easy to forget that you’re in the heart of the city. One of the most illustrious is Ensor Mews, not only for its picturesque aesthetic, but for its beautiful wisteria – so, it should be at the top of your list!

SHOPPING

The streets are brimming with beautiful boutique stores and stylish patisseries and chocolatiers; which is what makes it so special.

At the heart of it all is Elizabeth Street, known as the crown jewel of Belgravia. It is particularly popular for brides-to-be, who love to visit Jenny Packham’s flagship bridal boutique!

Sloane Street (just a short stroll from Elizabeth Street) is where you’ll find high-end shops and luxury brand names, from Cartier to Louis Vuitton, and all on your doorstep no less.

Last but certainly not least is Motcomb Street, which is something of a secret with locals. It is lined with beautiful Regency buildings and paved with cobblestones, home to charming independent shops… A true favourite of ours.

PLACES TO EAT

Have you really been to Belgravia if you haven’t stopped at one of the most ‘Instagramable’ cafés in London? Hidden down Ebury Street, Peggy Porschen is decked out with floral installations, soft pink interior and a display of the most delicious-looking sweet treats.

If you’re looking for something a little more chic however, head to our very own il Pampero, an Italian restaurant which embodies vintage glamour and sophistication. The team delivers traditional flavour combinations from a seasonal changing menu, complemented with an impressive wine list and selection of inventive cocktails. You won’t be disappointed!

Or for some alfresco dining, try our beautiful Garden Terrace. It’s an elegant suntrap on warm summer days, and a cosy retreat in the winter. A retractable roof will also keep you dry all year round.

ENTERTAINMENT

Belgravia truly does have it all. From concert halls to art galleries, you will not be short of things to do here.

Cadogan Hall is a beautiful and intimate concert venue which hosts live music performances, including shows from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It is also renowned for being one of London’s top concert venues, so make sure you plan your visit in advance.

Although not quite in the center of Belgravia, the Saatchi Gallery is not to be missed. Originally opened in 1985 by Charles Saatchi, the gallery aims to bring contemporary art to a wider audience by providing an innovative platform for emerging and local artists.  It is also just a 10-minute walk from our hotel doors.

RELAXATION

The hustle and bustle of the city can sometimes be a little stressful, which is why a trip to the spa is the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind.

Just a short 18-minute drive to Nuriss, where you’ll find Dr. Anita Sturnham, a leading name in spa and wellness in London. At Nuriss, you can realise the best version of yourself. Dr Anita and her team of experts in medicine, dermatology and nutrition are dedicated to helping you look and feel the best you possibly can. Pamper yourself with a range of luxurious treatments, personalised for your needs, and embark on a transformative journey towards relaxation and inner harmony.

Another must visit is LondonCryo, which specialises in wellness and recovery treatments (in particular whole-body cryotherapy). Owner and Founder, Maria Ensabella is one of the UK’s leading wellness practitioners; so, you can rest assured you are in capable hands!
